Delivered by Prime’s LIFT partnership, BaS LIFT, on behalf of NHS Birmingham East and North, Richmond Primary Care Centre is an £8.5 million landmark development that stands at a prominent crossroads in the heart of Stechford.

Transforming healthcare provision for the local community, the centre has brought together four individual GP surgeries into a single, unified practice. The resulting increased patient list size has enabled the practice to offer a wider range of services, including physiotherapy, podiatry and dental services, as well as providing a base for district nursing and health visiting teams.

Everything from the impressive glazed façade that wraps around the double height reception area to the multi-coloured mood lighting and light reflecting staircase ensures the centre creates a positive and reassuring atmosphere for patients that helps promote wellbeing.

A feature of the centre is a striking 18 metre long community art installation which runs across the front glazed façade. The project, which included over 40 participants from local youth and community groups, celebrates the area’s strong identity, while contributing to the regeneration of the area and establishing a strong sense of community pride.

It’s a beautiful building and what’s really good about it is the way it enables people to work together.”
