Devonshire Park Dental Centre

Initially home to Greenway Road Medical Centre, when the current surgery moved into the new St Catherine’s Health Centre in Birkenhead, the existing building needed to adapt to accommodate a potential change of use.

With the new tenants both dental providers, converting the existing building to work for multiple occupiers would normally present significant challenges. Thanks to Prime’s approach to development – with future-proofing and flexibility front of mind – the building was free of structural sub-dividing walls and could be completely reconfigured, enabling it to suit the differing needs of the two providers.

The first floor is home to a community dental service – often treating patients with learning and physical disabilities – and accommodates four large consulting rooms that are fully DDA compliant. The ground floor is occupied by a local independent dental practice and includes four treatment rooms, an X-Ray facility and an administration office and records store.

The success of the refurbishment is testament to the flexibility of the building, which has been built to allow future remodelling and adapt to changing models of service delivery.
