Prime wins Developer of the Year at the HealthInvestor Awards 2020

Prime has been named ‘Developer of the Year’ at the HealthInvestor Awards 2020, winning the award of a category made up of seven finalists.

The HealthInvestor Awards promote excellence and recognise outstanding performance in the independent healthcare sector.

The winning entry was summarised by the judges: “Prime continues to grow the business with a great variety of schemes.

“Prime stand out for the breadth of its development footprint across the healthcare sector. This ranges from the new HCA hospital in Birmingham to multiple primary health facilities, and from care homes to key worker accommodation. The scale of its development agenda is impressive but so was an attention to detail on each scheme. In addition, the company was able to evidence impressive outcomes and timescales together with a very healthy future pipeline.”

Prime’s submission focused on its work over the last 12 months, delivering on its commitment to ‘developing space for change’. This work has driven development deals valued at £278m across 789,000sqft of high-quality health and care real estate, raising the profile of healthcare with property investors.

The projects span acute, primary and elderly care, including a new hospital for HCA in Birmingham; keyworker accommodation in Yeovil; a city health centre in Hereford; handovers of the final health centre within Ireland’s €140m, 14 site, Primary Care PPP; Belong’s £18m care village; and a 9-acre health innovation campus and park and ride for University Hospital Southampton.

Leighton Chumbley, Chief Executive, said: “Prime has delivered on a huge volume of health and care property deals over the past 12 months and it is rewarding for the team to win Developer of the Year.

“Even in these unprecedented times, we will continue to deliver positive, impactful change to the people that matter – patients, communities and our health, care and investor clients.”
