The Prime Foundation has opened its annual fund for community projects in Worcestershire to applications. Locals are invited to apply for an amount of up to £8,300 for causes that align with the Foundation’s aims of improving education, physical and mental health, and social wellbeing at a local level.
The Foundation invests in communities where Prime has built new facilities using a proportion of profits from developments. Additionally, it supports causes in its home county of Worcestershire as part of its commitment to improving lives in the local area.
Last year, the Foundation supported three impactful community projects. STEPWAY, a military charity supporting veterans and their family members in civilian life, received funding for a large shed on a pontoon. This ensures the safekeeping of equipment and provides office space and a quiet area.
Dawn Turner, CEO of STEPWAY, said: “The funding received from the Prime Foundation has transformed and enhanced support services at the STEPWAY community garden. The office and workshop will benefit veterans, family members and the local community.”
The shed was unfortunately vandalised later in the year, prompting many to come to STEPWAY’s aid. The Prime Foundation swiftly provided funding for monitoring equipment to secure the area’s safekeeping.
The Worcester Child Contact Centre, which provides safe spaces where children can meet parents they don’t live with, received funding to enhance its facilities, enabling the development of a parent-child reading area with books, furniture, toys, games and crafts.
Finally, the funding Lido Park Tennis Club received meant they were able to purchase equipment to establish a club for homeschooled children and teens in Droitwich Spa.
Hannah Cashmore, Trustee of the Prime Foundation, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming funding round: “We’ve witnessed the profound impact of our funding on local groups year-on-year, and we’re eager to open applications for community-led projects once again. We look forward to reviewing submissions and continuing to invest in the wellbeing of our local Worcestershire community.”
