Fort Royal Community Primary School

Fort Royal School is a special needs primary school in Worcester city, catering for 240 children. The Prime Foundation were able to fund sensory play equipment for the schools sensory library, where children can borrow a toy or instrument before buying it to see if they like it.

“We were desperately in need of upgrading and adding to our musical instruments across the whole school... it is widely acknowledged that playing music and singing has an important role in supporting children's speech and language development, sensory awareness and interaction between themselves and adults. For our children who are non verbal, music opens up a new range of techniques that can be used to encourage their communication skills, where they can have fun and begin to articulate and mimic sounds. We have lots of fun, as you can see by the pictures!”
